This amazing antique vest with belt were hand-beaded in the early 1900's in Ukraine. It is part of a folk dancing costume. Bead embroidery includes white hearts, greasy yellows, mustard, green-heart brown, cornflower & cobalt blues, Cheyenne pink and old clear & whites. All beads are pre-1900 Venetian-made. Vest has some wear, with brass buttons, bead embroidery on black velvet and silk ribbon trim. Belt has silk tie at back and is 5 inches wide x 20 inches long. With ties, total length is 50 inches. Vest is 23 inches from shoulder to bottom x 38 inches around. A beautiful folk art ensemble, embroidery is exquisite!
